Alabama’s Premier Wildlife Arts Festival
The Wetumpka Wildlife Arts Festival (WEWA) is Alabama’s annual premier wildlife arts festival, organized by The Kelly Fitzpatrick Center for the Arts. Open and free to the public, our mission is to engage, inspire, and educate the art and outdoor communities with a public festival celebrating Alabama’s wildlife, landscapes, and field sport traditions through the visual arts.
Held every fourth Saturday of October in Historic Downtown Wetumpka.
Wildlife fine Art
Discover some of the Southeast’s most renowned and talented contemporary artists with world-class artworks that amaze visitors and collectors alike every year. The highlight is the Alabama’s Wildlife Fine Art Competition, sponsored by LIV Development and the Alabama Wildlife Federation, where artists compete for prizes totaling over $30,00.
Sporting Demonstrations
Enjoy field sport demonstrations from beloved dog kennels, dog trainers, and fly fishing experts. Whether you’re an experienced field sportsman or want to dip your toes into something new, there are demonstrations that are sure to reward the adventurous.
DockDogs Competition
DockDogs is the fastest growing sport on 4 legs. DockDogs is a organization created in 2000, and their open competitions allow “anyone with a dog and toy” to participate in the sport and have a chance at national recognition. DockDogs will be competing throughout the festival.
Conservation Information
Join conservation experts like the Alabama Wildlife Federation and Raptor’s Ridge Wildlife Education for education made exciting! With demonstrations and activities that you can see, pet, and hold, there is no better way to learn the importance of environmental stewardship than seeing our amazing Alabamian wildlife face-to-face.
